The effects of herbextract from Andrographis Paniculata, Pouzolzia zeylanica, Tinospora Crispa AND Ginger on the ferformance of Cobb-308 Broiler (Author: La Van Kinh, Nguyen Thi Le Hang)

SUMMARY

 

Thix study aims to evaluate and compare the effects of two herbs: IAS-1 herb extract prepared from stem and leaf powders of Andrographis Paniculata (Burm.f.) Nees (37.2%), Tinospora Crispa (L.) Miers (40.1%) and Ginger (Zingiber officinale Roscoe) (21.8%) and IAS-2 herb extract made up from stem and leaf powders of Pouzolzia zeylanica (L.) Benn (21.6%), Tinospora Crispa (L.) Miers (51.2%) and Ginger (Zingiber officinale Roscoe) (27.2%) on the performance of COOB-308 broiler. A total 250 chickens in one day old with iso-sex, breed and weight were allocated into five treatments, 10 replicates, 5 chickens each. The experimental time was 7 weeks. The results indicate thet both herbs had the same effect on birds. The supplement of herbs to diet improved 7.7-10.5% weight gain, 7-10% feed conversion and decreased 21-26% diarrhea rate whereas there was no effects on the feed intake and meat quality. The supplement of both herds IAS-1 and IAS-2 to diet did not improved weightgain and feed conversion ratio but decreased strongly 66% diarrhea rate.
