DINH THI LAM. 2021. Studies on wild genetic resources to improve phosphorus deficiency tolerance in rice (Oryza sativa L.).
Monday, 08/08/2022 | 08:07:21

The wild species of genus Oryza is regarded as a valuable resource for rice improvement because of its high genetic diversity. Chloroplast genome variations (maternal lineage) mentioning Oryza rufipogon populations collected were evaluated through 8 cpINDELs. 166 accessions from Vietnam comprises 10 plastid types, carrying 5 that were unique and different from the controls.

Tuesday, 22/02/2022 | 10:43:15

Phu Quoc dog exhibits its phenotype feature of ridgeback character. The landrace dog originated from Phu Quoc island, Vietnam. Phenotyping was carried out to identify its body weight of 19.5-19.6 kg, body length of 50.2-50.6 cm; shoulder height of 45.3-45.9 cm; dog muzzle length of 10.2-10.3 cm; chest size of 55.3-55.9 cm; bell size of 45.1-45.6 cm; ear length of 9.8 cm; tail length of 28.1-28.9 cm.

CAO THỊ LÀN. 2020. Influence by mediums and nutrients to growth and development, yield and quality of strawberry (Fragaria x ananassa) under greenhouse practices at Da Lat. PhD Thesis on Agronomy. The Institute of Agricultural Sciences for Southern Vietn
Monday, 21/02/2022 | 08:11:38

The study identifies the optimum medium that: rice husk plus burn husk and coconut fiber are the key materials to ensure the quality of growing medium. Strawberry leaf area obtained the best when the medium could absorb 41.0% of water and maintaining 39.4% of aerobic rate. Strawberry yielded the best when water absorption of  36.2% and aerobic rate of 45.0%.

TRƯƠNG MINH NGỌC. 2022. Iron toxicity influences to rice plant under acid sulfate soils in Dong Thap Muoi and some solutions. PhD Thesis on Soil Science. Institute of Agricultureal Science for Southern Vietnam.
Monday, 21/02/2022 | 08:10:42

Iron toxicity strongly influences He Thu rice yield under acid sulfate soils in Mekong Delta. Leaf bronzing is the typical symptom. Variety IR 50404 yielded the best when leaf iron content of 200 – 350 mg/kg. Its yield declined when leaf iron content of over 350 mg/kg and downed at 450 mg/kg. Increasing Fe2+ in the medium enhanced leaf and tiller Fe accumulation. The rice plant was inhibited its nutrient uptake and became poor growth. Rice variety IR 50404 addressed its iron toxicity tolerance better than OM 5451.

NGUYỄN NHƯ HOA. 2022. Genome sequence data base of Dendrobium spp. to promptly identify species and to access their genetic diversity in orchid landraces from Southern Vietnam. PhD Thesis of Biotechnology. Institute of Agricultural Sciences for Southern V
Monday, 21/02/2022 | 08:09:16

Genus Dendrobium includes the largest species in the Orchinidae in Southern Vietnam. Genetic data base was established on the background of morphology of collected orchids, with their enclosed figures. Phylogenetic dengrogram was set up among 40 Dendrobium accessions collected in South.

NGUYỄN THẾ NHUẬN. 2021. NPK influences associated with photoperiod on growth and development of free-pathogen G0 potato seeds (minitubers) at Da Lat”. PhD Thesis on Crop Science. Institute of Agricultural Science for Southern Vietnam.
Monday, 10/05/2021 | 09:24:36

The study aims at scientific parameters on supports, nutrients, pH, photoperiod sensitivity to identify the suitable practices on G0 potato seeds’ productivity increasing. The medium included 1:1 volume of coconut fiber and peat soils became the best support of potato seeds after tissue culture. The medium also adapted to mechanization how to enhance root growth.

NGÔ MINH DŨNG. 2021. Compact fluorescent light manipulation to enhance off-season flowering for dragon fruit crop (Hylocereus undatus (Haw) Britt. and Rose). PhD Thesis. The Institute of Agricultural Sciences for Southern Vietnam.
Monday, 10/05/2021 | 09:23:46

The study aims at identifying CFL (compact fluorescent light) treatment specified with low power of 20W, which significantly replaces 60W light to induce dragon fruit crop blooming. Surveys on Bình Thuận, Tiền Giang, Tây Ninh were conducted on 2013 December. 100% farms used CFL manipulation to enhance off-season flowering for dragon fruit crop số hộ trồng thanh. 60W light treatment obtained 35-40 flower buds/hill; 15-17 kg/hill. However, electric consumption increased the production cost.

Thai Ke Quan. 2019. Genetic Diversity Of Phu Quoc Dog Based On Canis Mitochondria Dna Hv1 Database. PhD Thesis. Institute of Agricultural Sciences for Southern Vietnam.
Monday, 09/12/2019 | 13:34:30

Evaluation of genetic diversity of Vietnamese dogs based on mitochondrial DNA hypervariable-1 region was conducted in Vietnam to aim at identifying the origin of Phu Quoc ridgeback dogs based on mitochondrial DNA Hypervariable-1 region. The reference genome included 5567 sequences in GenBank to facilitate the identification of Canis mitochrondria HV1 DNA haplotype. The result indicated that a successful protocol  could help DNA extract form dog hair.

Mai Văn Trị. 2019. Study on the causal agent and control measures of trunk canker on jackfruit in the southeastern. PhD Thesis. Institute of Agricultural Sciences for Southern Vietnam
Monday, 21/10/2019 | 09:38:28

Jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus Lam.; Moraceae) is currently one of the high value crops in Vietnam with more than 24,000 ha. Trunk canker, a serious disease by Phytophthora palmivora, has been causing significant losses for jackfruit production. The study aims at identifying the causal agent of the jackfruit trunk canker and studying measures for controlling the disease in the Southeastern region

NGUYEN BINH DUY. 2018. IMPACTS OF GLYPHOSATE AND ITS FORMULATION ON SOIL MICROBIAL FUNCTION. A thesis submitted to Southern Cross University in fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy. Southern Cross University, AUSTRALIA.
Wednesday, 07/08/2019 | 08:06:46

The herbicide glyphosate is an important tool for weed management and it is the most widely applied herbicide worldwide. Concerns have been raised that its increasing use negatively impacts on soil biology. The thesis examined the impact of glyphosate and a commercial formulation (RoundupCT®) on soil functions.  The influence of glyphosate on soil microbial biomass (SMB) and soil microbial respiration (SMR) was unclear, with inconsistent results across published studies.

Truong Tu Anh. 2019. Phenotypic Variation, Genetic Diversity, and Segregation of Vietnamese Rice Mutants. PhD Thesis Abstract. Hiroshima University
Sunday, 14/04/2019 | 06:20:37

To be recognized as an ideal organism, rice (Oryza sativa L.) has attracted considerable attention not only to food security but also to research targets. More importantly, rice plays an indispensable role in human’s lives by providing a staple food for more than half of the world’s population. Over the past decades, there have been dramatic increases in the global population and in the severe impact of climate change threatening food security. Under these strong influences, rice cultivars need to be improved in yield, quality, and in adaptability.
