Evaluation of selected potato clones/ cultivars for resistance to late blight (Phytophthora infestan) in Lam Dong

Summary

Late blight (Phytophthora infestan sp.) resistance of 39 potato clones/ cultivars and 6 promising cultivars by artificial infection in plastic house was evaluated at Dalat. The results showed that the disease severity and incidence of evaluated clones/ cultivars was significantly different. There were 6 clones / cultivars resistance to late blight and 5, 13 and 15 clones/ cultivars were tolerant, slightly susceptible and susceptible to late blight respectively. Among 6 promising cultivars, TK96.1 and TK10.06 were resistant while cultivars of PO3 and CIP33 were tolerant to late blight. Alternatively, cultivars of Atlantic an FL1867 were susceptible to late blight.
