OM 10041 – A promising rice variety

Summary

 

OM 10041 was selected from a combination hybrid D23/C56. OM 10041  has the advantage of flexible and aromatic rice, short duration 90-95 days, hard stem, strong tillering, high yielding, especially in the winter-spring ranges from 6 to 8 tons/ ha, amylose content 20-21%. This variety was evaluated with BPH at score 4-6 in artificial condition and level 2-5 for the blast. However, when evaluated on the same field conditions only varied from level 3 to 5. OM 10041 was suitable to many different cultivated lands, especially in the provinces/ city of Vinh Long, Kien Giang, Hau Giang, An Giang, Can Tho, Bac Lieu, Tra Vinh and highly productive expression. Production area of OM 10041  in the Mekong delta in 2012 was up to 28,576 ha.
